Community Action

AAUW AZ approved the continuation of the Branch Community Action Grant program for 2024

The AAUW AZ Community Action Grant program for supports AAUW branch outreach activities. AAUW AZ approved grants, with completed projects, will reimburse the branch for expenses up to $500. Typically, the grant projects demonstrate the AAUW mission in local AZ communities.

How the AAUW AZ Community Action Grant (CAG) program works:

  • By March 15, 2024 download the CAG Application 2024 or complete the online application from this link
  • Complete the AAUW mission based project
  • By June 1, 2024 download and submit the CAG Final Report

Here are just a few Community Action programs that happened throughout AZ:

  • Running and Winning, an AAUW national program to encourage young women to participate more fully in civic matters, is offered by the Scottsdale and Tucson branches in partnership with the League of Women Voters.
  • Prescott branch encourages students from the tri-city area to pursue higher education at their Sister-to-Sister event, and partners with the Girl Scouts to offer a Career Fair.
  • AAUW AZ for Public Education projects were sponsored throughout the state. See these projects posted on AAUW AZ branch websites.

All branches are encouraged to explore opportunities for action within their communities.
